The YMCA welcomes all who wish to participate and believes that no one should be denied access to the Y based on their ability to pay. Through our financial aid program, the YMCA provides assistance to youth, adults and families based on individual needs and circumstances.
Determining assistance amounts is handled by the YMCA in a fair and consistent manner. Every YMCA member receives the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they receive a scholarship. YMCA members can feel confident knowing they are a part of an organization that cares greatly for the well-being of all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The Shawnee YMCA has been serving since 1903 in our community.
The Shawnee YMCA is owned, operated, and managed by a local group of volunteers from within our community. We offer financial assistance on membership and programs.
We also serve the community in a variety of other ways. In 2019 we served over 14,300 meals to youth in our community, over 900 youth played sports at the Shawnee YMCA, 377 kids learned to swim, over 1,600 individuals were provided financial assistance on programs and membership, and we provided over $51,000 of financial assistance to our community!!
